2013 - The beginning of the end for the Green Boro Taxi
In 2023, the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission has decided to end the green Boro Taxi program and slowly phase out with the new NYC Passenger Boro pilot program. This new experimental program differs from the Street-Hail Green Taxi, and have the option add a partition and/or cameras. The purpose of this pilot program is to encourage Boro Taxi license holders to forfeit their license and receive the experimental P Boro license for pre-arranged trips, encouraging supply and demand for livery and non-emergency medical transportation.
